Read on to discover the most common mistakes in your bra size.

1. Confusing your bra size and bra cup size

When does this happen? You haven't measured your chest.

You've probably never had your bra size measured, and no one has ever taught you what bra sizing actually means.

The number 100 corresponds to the back contour.

And the letter B corresponds to the volume of the chest.

Size:

This is the measurement of the base of the waist/back, and is numbered: 85, 90, 95, 100, 105, 110, 115… 85 being the smallest and 115 the largest.

The cup:

It is the measurement of the volume of the breast, and is given in letters: A, B, C, D, DD… A being the smallest and DD the largest.

2. Back pain:

When does this happen? You're wearing the smallest bra band.

This is one of the most common mistakes. You're wearing a bra that's a size too small or has features that aren't flattering, like a thin or overly rigid back. If your bra shows marks or gives you a little "chubby," confirm your bra size and remember that a bra extender can be your best ally.

When we constantly wear the wrong bra, our body gets used to it, creating gaps we didn't have before.

3. La copa del sujetador te parte el pecho:

When does this happen? You wear the smallest bra cup size.

Many women wear bras that are too small, and this mistake is more common than you might think. The cup size tends to create a "double breast" effect, splitting the breasts in two. This is instantly noticeable through outerwear, as your breasts lose their rounded shape.

Did you know that at Leonisa we have bras with different cup sizes? Find half-cup or full-cup bras here.

If this happens to you, keep reading, as you should change your bra size or cup size to a larger one to avoid it.

4. The bow is placed on the bust:

When does this happen?: Small or poorly fitting cup size.

You're not wearing the correct bra size or you're not wearing it correctly.

If the first option is more your case, it means the cup is too small and your breasts don't fit properly. This is why the underwire rides up on your breasts, making you feel uncomfortable and not giving you the support you need.

Learn about full-cup bras here.

5. You have too much space between the cup and your chest:

When does this happen?: Large cup sizes.

This happens more often to women with small breasts. They find it difficult to find a structured bra that they can “fill out.” We have options for women with less breast volume like you so you can feel comfortable in your bra cup.

For women with small breasts, soft cups like bralettes or tops and bras for small breasts are a great option, but you can also wear small-cup bras or padded bras, better known as push-up or push-up bras, as long as the cups fit your breasts perfectly.

This mistake can also happen to women with regular or large breasts if they are not wearing the correct size or the cup is larger than it should be. If this is your case, here we have bras for regular breasts and bras for large breasts, choose yours! If you're one of those who buys a larger bra size so that it fits well in the back, even if the cup size is too big, wait! We recommend choosing a garment that fits your chest perfectly and using clasp extenders if the back is too tight.

6. The raised or mounted back:

When does this happen?: Straps that are too tight or a large size.

You may have noticed or experienced that the back of your bra is too high and not level with your chest. This is one of the most common mistakes and can be due to one of these two reasons: First, you are wearing straps that are too tight, which can cause unnecessary pain.

Second, you are wearing a larger size than you should, making it difficult to adjust the back. Keep in mind that your back should be completely straight and should not ride up at any time.

7. Straps that are too tight or too loose:

There's nothing more uncomfortable than feeling the straps so tight that when you take off your bra you can see marks on your shoulders. This shouldn't happen!

The opposite also happens: completely loose straps make your bust look droopy and it's uncomfortable to have to pull them up because they slide off your shoulders.

The straps support the weight of your breasts, so they should fit perfectly. And if you're a woman with large breasts, wear wide straps!

Knowing and calculating the correct bra size guarantees that the bra fits spectacularly and that you feel 100% comfortable.

When you try on bras in your correct size, you'll notice an instant change in your bust and body. Your life will change from now on; you'll feel more empowered, and your outerwear will look so much better.

It's time for the truth: Do you identify with any of these mistakes?

You are now ready for the most important and anticipated moment!

We recommend measuring yourself at least twice a year, as women tend to change their measurements due to hormones, pregnancies, weight changes, etc.

Frequently Asked Questions

To know your bra size you need to know two measurements:

1. The band or back: this is given in numbers (32, 34, 36, 38, 40, etc.)
2. The bra cup: this measures the most prominent part of the bust and is given in letters (A, B, C, D, DD).

This will create an alphanumeric size (32B, 34B, 36C, etc.)

To take these measurements you must have a tape measure in cm on hand. First, take the tape measure and place it at the base of your bust (just below the breast), around your band. The tape measure should be completely straight or aligned, both in the back and in the front. Next, measure the most prominent part of the bust, placing the tape measure around your body. The tape measure should be neither too tight nor too loose.

Once you have these two measurements clear, you can consult our measurement chart or bra size calculator at leonisa.eu. There you tabulate the two numbers you obtained in the measurement and voila, the system will give you your correct bra size!

At Leonisa, bra size 42 is the largest, and D corresponds to the largest cup size (42D).

We think of women with larger busts and care about their comfort and well-being. Large bust sizes range from 38 to 42, and cups C, D, and DD. These larger bra sizes are the best ally for women who don't want to sacrifice comfort and support, regardless of their size.

At Leonisa, size 32B is the smallest. Remember that the number 32 corresponds to the band and the letter B to the bra cup.

It's very easy and you can feel confident when purchasing at leonisa.eu. Remember that in alphanumeric sizes (for example, 36C), the number corresponds to the band or back circumference, and the letter to the bra cup circumference.

Each size has an equivalent in cm, which corresponds to the measurement of the base or back circumference:

Size 30: 62 - 67 cm
Size 32: 67 - 72 cm
Size 34: 72 - 77 cm
Size 36: 77 - 82 cm
Size 38: 82 - 87 cm
Size 40: 87 - 92 cm
Size 42: 92 - 97 cm
Size 44: 97 - 102 cm

Bra cup sizes are given in letters (A cup, B cup, C cup, D cup) and correspond to the ratio of the circumference to the bust size.

To find your bra cup size, you'll need a tape measure in cm. Measure your bust size at the widest part, wrapping the tape measure around your body and making sure it's neither too tight nor too loose.

Once you've figured this out, you can consult our bra size calculator or the measurement chart at leonisa.eu. By entering your measurement, the system will display your correct cup size!

The correct answer would be a medium size, ideal for medium busts. Remember that the number corresponds to the band or back, and the letter to the bra cup. Therefore, a B cup is suitable for medium busts, and a 36 indicates a medium band.

In conclusion, a 36B indicates a proportion between the band and the bust.
